On Nov. 15, the Transportation Construction Coalition sent a letter to leadership of both the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives to urge the repeal of the $7.6 billion rescission of federal highway contract authority set to occur on July 1, 2020 as required by the FAST Act, the current surface transportation law. The rescission adversely impacts all 50 states and the District of Columbia by limiting their flexibility to address their transportation needs and possibly jeopardizing critical federal investments in the nation’s transportation infrastructure. The groups urged Congress to include the repeal in the next Continuing Resolution or other legislation. To view the full letter, click here.
